Being an electro-mechanical contact element with the motor of the machine, its characteristics and technical specifications are crucial for the good performance of the product.
Each material has been designed and developed to operate under certain operating conditions, in the case of the graphite of each brush is selected according to Degrees of Resistance, Hardness, Strength and Current to provide the best performance and performance to the product.
When using a generic brush, the machine is exposed to different conditions that can cause damage to the product. The most frequent case is that due to the superior hardness of the generic brush with respect to the original, the engine collector is damaged, in this case the brush It lasts longer but it will damage the engine prematurely.
This type of intervention is an exclusion of warranty due to the aforementioned.

Whenever the warranty of any tool is in force, the invoice or proof of purchase of the product to which it is desired to repair under this modality must be presented.

The document or purchase invoice must strictly comply with the following conditions:

  • The description of the tool in the document or invoice must correspond in full with the model submitted to exercise its right to guarantee.
  • If the tool has been purchased in conjunction with other items of different brands or nature, this document can be presented as long as the items purchased in the store are properly differentiated.
  • You must not have any type of amendment that lends itself to doubt about the veracity of it.
  • It is strictly necessary that the date of purchase of the product can be seen clearly and specifically.
  • The name of the trade in which the tool was acquired must be clearly seen, as well as the company name of the establishment.
  • If you do not have the original document or invoice, you can present a legible copy of it that complies with all the above requirements.

In the Authorized Service Center they will enter the necessary information in our On Line GOL system and from that moment the client will receive the information and / or update of the status of their repair request under the warranty selection. This information will be provided through SMS (text message) or your personal email indicating every time the status of your product changes until the last step when you are told that your equipment is ready and can be pick up.

The Service Center network can be find in:
• The web page in the SERVICE AND SUPPORT section

Promaker Tools has digital presence in different regions. Through Ebay®, the shopping portal on the internet, you can buy a wide variety of our products.

One of the most frequent problems that poses a risk to the operator is the use we can give to a power tool, in addition this bad practice leads to the loss of the product’s Limited Warranty.

Among the examples of misuse of a tool that can disable the warranty of the same we have:

  • Blows or impacts against strong surfaces due to improper handling of the tool.
  • Entry of objects or foreign bodies in a deliberate or involuntary manner that may affect the proper functioning of the equipment, such as nails, screws, pieces of metal, sand, dirt, etc.
  • Excessive exposure to the weather or humidity that may cause corrosion of metal parts, (Ex: Bad storage, tools subjected to contact with corrosive liquids or in the rain, etc.).
  • Inappropriate voltage levels (high or low) applied to the tool, use of defective extension or of considerable length that may affect the operation of the tool, generators or sources of voltages not appropriate.
  • Use of unsuitable grease or lubricants, or excessive subjection to these.
  • Lack or omission of the recommended minimum maintenance (periodic cleaning, conditioning of storage spaces, etc.).
  • Use of inappropriate accessories for a specific tool that may cause total or partial collapse of the same.
  • Any modification made to the tool by the owner (repair attempt), or through technical personnel not qualified or certified by the manufacturer of the tool.

It is recommended to read the manual of the tool to anticipate any type of inconvenience with this, and above all the most important thing is the integrity of the user.

Depending on the power tool, its feature label may include the following symbols:

………………………. Volts or supply voltage

…………………… Hertz or hertz, frequency of operation

 ………………….  Minuts

 ………… Direct current

 ………………… Class I insulation (ground)

 …………….. Per minute

 ……………….. Blows per minute

 ………………… Impacts per minute

 ………………. Revolutions per minute

 …………….. Feet surface per minute

 ……………………. Amperes

 …………………… Watts

 ……….. Alternating current

 … Alternating or direct current

…………………. Class II insulation (Double insulation)

 …………………. Security warning

 ………………… Eye Protection

 ………………… Hearing protection

 ………………… Respiratory protection

Our power tools internally have double insulation for protection, so they do not require a ground connection. On the other side, it is recommended to check that the voltage of the network corresponds to the value indicated on the nameplate, if your tool has the symbol corresponding to the Electrical Double Insulation (Image 1) on the label or nameplate it does not It will include a ground pole in the plug of the power cable, but it will have the necessary internal protection to avoid putting the user at risk.

This numbering refers to the shape specifications, and basically divided into: flat wheels, and depressed center. Additionally this numbering provides information regarding the type of use (cutting or roughing) as shown in the image.

In general terms, these are described as:

  • 27: Roughing wheels of depressed center, diameters 76-230mm.
    29: Depressed center flap wheels, 115mm & 125mm diameters.
41: Flat cutting wheels, diameters 40-400mm and 250-400mm.
42: Depressed center cutting discs, diameters 76-230mm.

In almost all cases abrasive wheels have a limited useful life which will depend to a large extent on the material and the support structure that the manufacturers have used for its production.

Generally, wheels are made with grain compounds with abrasive properties such as natural or synthetic aluminum oxide, or silicon carbide among others; However, over time these materials lose their abrasive or abrasive properties on other surfaces to the point of not being as efficient as they could be at the time of their manufacture.

Knowing precisely the period of validity of the same one is usually complex since they take part a series of external factors that tend to accelerate the time of expiration of the disc (storage, humidity, temperature, use, etc.). An abrasive wheel as such could deliver its optimum operating point for 3 or 4 years in “standard” environmental conditions, but as mentioned earlier this time could be shorter depending on the changes that the environment could experience.

Another factor that must be considered is the structural support material that maintains the shape of the wheel. These supports are usually very varied such as paper, cloth (cotton or polyester), combinations between paper and cloth, metal, or fiber. All these materials are subject to wear and tear due to use or storage conditions. Additionally, the aggregate loses its adherent properties over time which would lead to the collapse or rupture of the wheel in full use.

But, how can I know when my abrasive wheel expires? … Image 1 shows us the most common way that different manufacturers offer us to know an estimate of useful life.

Image 1. Expiration date of an abrasive wheel.

In general, each manufacturer uses the metal ring located in the center of the wheel to indicate the expiration date. As you can see in the image, the letter “V” is capitalized to the expiration date which in this example would be September 2025 (V09-2025).

Similarly, if the information is not present in the central ring, it can be located on the label of the product always preceded by the letter “V”, the same thing would happen if the wheel does not have a central ring. However, if the expiration date is not specified, the material on the disc does not expire.

Generally all abrasive wheels provide us with sufficient information of the different measurements or dimensions that characterize them. These dimensions are expressed in inches and / or millimeters and are printed on the identification labels of each manufacturer; or in some cases this information may be printed on the body or face of the disc as in metal discs for cutting wood, ceramics, marble, concrete, among others. Basically the information that is offered to us is: Diameter of the disc. Thickness. Diameter of the power shaft or coupling of the tool with the wheel. Take as an example the dimensions described in image 1:

Image 1. Dimensions of the wheel in inches. Diameter of the disc: 4½ “(Four and a half inches). Thickness: 3/64 “(Three sixty-four-fourths of an inch). Shaft diameter: 7/8 “(Seven eighths of an inch). On the other side, image 2 shows the dimensions expressed in millimeters:

Image 2. Dimensions of the wheel in inches. Diameter of the disc: 115 mm. Thickness: 1.2 mm. Diameter of the axis: 22.23 mm. When buying or acquiring an abrasive wheel always keep in mind the dimensions of it, and especially those of the shaft of the tool since not all are equal and this could represent a considerable expense or loss of money.
